2 days ago I picked up a 7" syno eupterus from an LFS. He was a bit beat up but active, and I got him for cheap. One of the flows is a commonly seen damage to the dorsal fin - these fish have spikes at the ends of their fin rays that are notorious for getting caught in the nets. In this case, the first (tallest) ray is damaged, the fillament is gone and there is a bit of bone showing. The fish is doing fine but I was wondering if his dorsal stands a chance of regenrating. Other than maintaing good water conditions what else can I do to help him through?
