I was at petsmart and looked into the Longirostris tank and saw one that is not a longirostris. It has the Longirostris's body patterns and color but has the tiny spots on the head like the decora. The wierds part is that is has a silver strip on its sides. Actually its more of a splotch... Anyone have one? Anyone heard of one?

The also have what the labeled as Zebra Synodontis Hybrid, between a decora and multi. Any idea what thins is? It looks just like a decora to me..

I tryed to take a pic with my camera but i was told to put it away and she stalked me the whole time.

Well i was hoping for some information but it never came so i did the only thing possible... buy them both then ask the mfk to identify.. will get pics 2morrow..

Are you sure it was longirostris? I seriously doubt it.... i have looked heaven and earth for a longirostris, and I'm starting to think its a mythical being.

Whats been lately labeled as longirostris has been some sort of weird hybrid, that i think is a mix of eupterus and ocellifer. but if you did in fact find an actual longirostris i will bow down to you:headbang2

They do have regular long's. I didnt think they were them till i looked them up at planet catfish. They just got in a bunch of baby long's. I didnt buy them cause of there size they get. I would honest get one and send it to you if you really wanted one... They have one that around 3.5 inches and a ton of .5 inche little guys..

Ill have pics of the one i think a long and a dec hopefully tomarrow. He has the body and color of a long but has the tiny dots around the head like a dec. I bought both fish i couldnt id just becuase lol.

It's less about the pattern. Especially when it comes to mochokidae cats, since several sp. all have the same patterns. With Syno. longirostris the key is the long snout. Which from what i've heard is obvious to see.

I am curious to see your cats though. hope those pics come sooner than later. :D

Usaully im super fast with the picture but the scan disk card i have is screwing up. I didnt get a long but im nearly sure they are them. The have the long snout and the correct pattern. I only pick up the wierd patterned one they had labeled a long.

I got one at Petsmart labled Synodontis decorus x multipunctatus ("zebra synodontis"). Looks similar to what you're describing. He's pretty cool.

Have seen the Hybrid Synos. a lot lately. Either called Zebra or Jaguar, cool looking little fellers. LFS did not state the lineage.

Not much into synos. But a petsmart employee stalking you. I'm pretty sure that she could have been arrested as I'm pretty sure there's no law against it.
