I have had corydoras with my senegal before and they got along fine. Since the synodontis are quite a bit larger than cories, will it work?

They don't get that large I think it will work. Some larger Synodontis species can be a little pushy .

I don't know if its any comfort but my three nigriventris are very peaceful and don't bother any of their tank mates, they lightly bicker between themselves over the best hiding spots but thats it. :)

Do they find food fast? I'm under the impression that they are slow enough for my bichir to get in on the meal.
I'm not sure how slow bichirs are... I've never even seen one that wasn't on a screen.. :(

As for how quickly they do or don't get food it depends. Almost as soon as the pellets hit the water mine come out of hiding and start buzzing around looking for it. It does take them a few seconds to actually find a pellet though, especially if I put the food in the opposite end of the tank to where they live.

Mine are in with kuhli loaches and a cae, they did share with a SF betta as well but he passed recently - I don't know how slow these fish are compared with bichirs but none of my fish have ever been out competed for food by the synos, in fact once I watched a loach push a catfish out of the way to get a pellet. :D
