Synodontis Ocellifer

I'm thinking about setting up a 55 gallon and I wanted to get a catfish that wasn't a tank buster. I have set my sights on a Synodontis Ocellifer. I also want to get 2 Royal Plecos (L-190). Does anyone have experience with keeping a Synodontis Ocelilifer with Royal Plecos?

I was also wondering if the Syno will mix with other catfish, say a 4 Lined Pim or a Pitcus cat. Any thoughts on that?

I have been reading up on these fish and I wanted to get a real world perspective. Thanks.
 
Also, if anyone has suggestions of some good catfish for a 55 gallon, I would like to hear them. I have been all over PlanetCatfish.com researching catfish but I feel that half the catfish listed on that site can't be found in the acquaria trade.

I may have to give that exact stocking level a try. Did the Ocellifer do well in neutral PH?
 
If you are going to do an Ocellifer w/other Synos. make sure they all have a cave. I have one that is not mean, but does boss around my other syno. (eurpetus) from time to time. He never bothered my Royal, L333, Clown, and BN and is a great fish.

Thanks for the advice. I have read that not all Synos will get along with other syno species. Do you know if an Ocellifer will get along with another Ocellifer? In the end, I may just get one to be on the safe side.

I am also researching on synos and I will probably do a species only tank with ocellifer. I will probably setup the tank in a month or so if you buy several ocellifers soon, I would appreciate if you pm me on how it went.

I have seen adult ocellifers in the same tank that seemed to get along but that was in lfs.

Yes my bro still has both of his ocellifer living together had them for about 4 year's .
