So I got 5 of these guys at a fish swap, they are about 3/4" I was wondering what size of cichlids can I put them with? Right now I have them in a grow out tank with my fry that are a bit smaller then the catfish, I'm worried they will eat my fry. I tried putting them in a bigger grow out tank with a little bigger fish, a lil over an inch but they seemed to be going up to the catfish and nip at them, I don't want any of my fish to be meals...any ideas? I would set up another tank but the wife would kill me...literal

Pretty small cichlids. Have you tried shell dwellers? They are extremely small. But I really don't know much about this species of catfish... maybe it's best not to keep them with cichlids.

They are fry from my bigger fish...I want even going to think about putting those cats in with 8in cichlids lol. The cats are from the lakes in africa and everyone iv heard from says they work ok with cichlids...just want sure on the sizes

I got a few questions on the synodontis pectoral, I read online to get this cats to breed you use black marbles in a container covered by a clay pot with a hole in it...could I use black beads? I'm having no luck finding black marbles and its starting to make me lose my marbles! Haha second online it says to feed these guys black worms? Are those the canadian worming get at walmart to go fishing with? Iv just been giving then blood worms...

Some pet stores carry live blackworms. I wouldn't use anything you would fish with, they could have parasites or something

With plenty of rocks you should be fine, I have them with my tropheus and my frontosa moba any they are fine. It sounds like typical cichlid behavior when I put mine in the tropheus tank they all took a nip at them to set the pecking order and two days later they ignored them. They are a great syno cat and I would feed the same food you are feeding their tank mates.

Right now they are in a tank by them self, I had them in a tank with lots of rock and the cichlids ate 2 of them. Right now im trying to breed them iv read up online how to get them to breed, they say to use black marbles in a clear bowl with a flour pot over it, I was wondering if black beads would work...
