Hey do you guys know ifSynodontis would eat other fishes slime coats? Cause i saw one of them clinging on to my datnoid and i thought that maybe thats what they were doing to it.
My best guess would be "NO". There is some research on a Lake Victorian Synodontis exhibiting some "cleaner-fish" behavior, but that probably has to do with removing parasites from fishes of the Haplochromis species flock! Plecos are known to suck on slow moving fish (like bichirs), but most fish are so active all they have to do is swim away! I guess it really depends as to if it's momentary contact are extended contact? If your syno is literally hanging from your datnoid, then there's a problem! Keep an eye on the goings on, and make sure everyone is well feed. Let us know what you observe! Johnathan
