Got him 2 weeks ago from a local specialty shop. Everything has been fine until 2 days ago. These large white spots appeared. Looking with a light the skin is gone and you can see the flesh. He is swimming around. No other fish are sick. Tank is a 240 with two Sponge filters, 2 fx6 filters, and one powerhead. Other fish are a 18 inch Arowana, 2 large silver dollars, one mayain cichlid, one small jade goby. Haven't encountered spots like these in my years of keeping fish. Any ideas?

that is pretty odd. is it just the two spots we see pictured? Is he hiding by the heater at all?

Just the 2 spots. I do not have a heater in the tank currently. Living in South Florida I rarely use it.

its interesting. I know I have seen it before. Think it was actually one of my fish and I did nothing and it did fine but I can't guarantee this.
If you really wanted to try something you could do hikari bio bandage or dilute betadine

Unfortunately the fish did not make it. From the time I noticed it till he died was 3 days. I have no idea what it was. All other fish are still doing good. Seems like he may have had some illness possibly when I bought him.

Sorry about the loss. I am really trying to think back to mine. Think mine did well for a long time.
