My sysnspillum have bred. How many days old should the fry be before i feed them?

pretty much like any large cichlid i would assume, after the fry are free-swimming for a day or two start to throw some food in there for them

There should be food for them when they are ready to swim. Artemia or pulverized flake.

Thanks for the replies. They are just a mass of wriggling blobs still. Hopefully should be swimming in next 2 days. They have laid eggs a few times but they have previously been eaten - this is the first time they have managed to keep them away from the others.

You don't have to worry about that if you're planning on leaving the fry in with the parents. Just feed the parents their normal-sized pellets and they will start feeding the fry when it's time... they will crush the food and you will see it coming out of their gills on top of the nest.

Nice! I'm surprised the pleco didn't eat all of the eggs. I agree with Cacichlids, the parents will usually make sure the fry are fed. There are also fry foods like First Bites that may help too.
