I got my syns and rose queens in the other day when I wasn't at home and had my girlfriend put them in my tank for me. She dumped them all in the same tank and now this is what I'm left with..

my question is.. How the hell am I supposed to tell them apart? I planned on selling the syns saturday but now I can't because I don't want to get banned from future auction/swapmeets for bringing in hybrids lol. I know theres 1-2 texas in there but the syns and fh's look the same to me. Please let me know if you've got any suggestions or if you have pictures of either at 1-3"

maybe the ones with the 1 bold black horizontal stripe are the syns?

and the ones with sorta bars and couple black spots on side are the FH?

this is what I was thinking also. I thought the syns would have more red on their top tail fin too. The #'s on that method don't really add up right though. There are 10 syns, and a 5 FH's. When you have a bunch of synspilum in a tank the dominant male is the only one that should color up correct..? I figured this is how I'd tell them apart but none of them have colored up yet. The only thing I can think is that the 2 remaining texas are the dominant fish in the tank and its keeping the head syn from coloring up. I would remove the texas's but I have no luck with them at all. I'm very lucky to be able to keep 10% of texas/carpinte alive which makes no sense to me but thats how it is.
