synspilum cichlid males from femailes

hey everyone i am new to MFK and i have 2 synspilum cichlids and i was just wondering how you could tell if they were male or female? they are young fish one is about 3 inches and the other is about 2.5 inches. idk if they can be sexed this young or not. thanks for your help!

I think female also,syns are tough at that size,look for the males to have a steeper head profile.great looking fish I have a group growing out now
