Synspilum from 90125 Mark on aquabid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have bought fish from 90125, they were packed well and healthy.

adverised as wild but when asked about collection location etc I was told “it wasn’t listed”

The fish I received look more typical of European bred fish than any of the wild populations I am aware of.

Not sure who mark is? Chris and Heather Butcher are the ones using the 90125 name on aquabid.

I would buy from them again if they had what I want, but I’d consider there fish all tank raised I wouldn’t plan on getting wild fish from them/ oron the fish inget
From the being wild.

How did they turn out

They are fine. Like I said they were well packed and healthy. They look like European aquarium strain fish, they do not resemble the wild populations I have seen photographs of. When I asked catch location I was told it wasn’t provided, and they did not answer what country they shipment my fish were in came from. So I believe my fish to be Not wild. I paid a fair price either way and got healthy fish that were sexed correctly and were the correct species- but without provenance, I do not believe them to be wild.

i would buy from them again if they had something I was looking for, but I might look for other sources too.

I am local to Chris and pick stuff up from him occasionally. I will say that the fish IDs are often wrong. I bought Laetacara araguaiae that turned out to be Laetacara thayeri, Dicrossus maculatus that were actually D. filamentosus, and port cichlids (Cichlasoma) that turned out to be Bujurquina vittata. He also currently has G. winemilleri listed on his stock but I’ve seen them in person and they’re abalios. I’m sure he simply is listing them for what he bought them as, but that means his wholesaler is way off.

Aside from the ID issues, everything I’ve bought has been healthy and he does pack very professionally. Even though I’m only an hour away, he double bags everything and packs them individually like he’s shipping. He and his wife are both really nice people.
