Synspilum info...?

I just picked up a 4" Synspilum and i know they get big. But just wondering how fast is their growth rate and what is their life span... i can't wait till it grows to a MONSTER.. ... And what do you Synspilum keepers feed your fish? At what size can you tell if its a male or female, and how?? Thanks ahead!

Both of mine ended up being female, and hit 9" in a bit over a year. A male will grow faster. They can live 15+ years, it all depends on care. Feed a good staple pellet with some greens (romaine lettuce) and treats thrown in every once in a while. Males will get larger and have a blockier head. Not the easiest fish to sex.
