Synspilum Sex (picture)

So I posted another thread about the sex of my Synspilum and asked if a vent picture would help. This is the best I could get (click to expand). Is anyone able to tell if this is a male or female based on the picture? There is absolutely no way I'm sticking anything up there if that's what's actually necessary.

(This came with much ridicule from my wife...she says that it's an indication that my hobby has officially gone too far).

I’m not a vent expert, but that looks male to me. oo male Oo female.

What’s up with sticking something up there? Who suggested that?

Not sure, I just remember hearing it somewhere...maybe that's a snake thing. Seemed bizarre to me, taking a picture was awkward enough :-D

Omg. I can’t stop laughing at this. I remember trying to vent my Oscar and taking pictures of it’s vent - he looked at me like ”you perve”

Yes, it's a snake thing. A properly trained person can use sexing probes to determine gender. It does not translate to fish.

I *think* that's a male.
