Just picked up this syn from one of my LFS. No history, just a rehome from a customer.

It's a lovely natured fish. 9", and has settled in a treat, to be the centrepiece fish in my 150G.
My question is that I am unsure of it's gender. I initially thought female, but now I'm not so sure. I had a good look at the vent when I put it in the tank and still that didn't help. The vent hole looked very long and thin, not like what I would normally expect of either a male or female. Hopefully the attached diagram, which I drew, might help. And of course a couple of pics of the fish.
Would appreciate your thoughts.

looks female to me but i am not 100% but i would say about 85% sure its female.

THanks Buddha, I was hoping you'd chime in, with your experience of the species.

Anyone else with any thoughts ?

SOunds like I might have to wait until he/she shows me his/her "bits" before I can be absolutely sure.

Excellent. Thanks Virgil.

She is now officially a female in our household !!!

yea colors too similar for most M/F.fins seem less pointy.his fish at 9 inches if male would have steeper head/profile
