Sysnpilum darkening up?

I´ve had my synspilum for about a week now, integrating into tank life very well, only problem is since my bifa really started to colour up when I added this syn, the syns colour has also changed, I´ll show some before and after pictures.

I was just wondering why Vieja species change their colours, could it be that I have a male and female that are interested in eachother?

my syns pair were dark when they were just before spawning and after while guarding.i know its young but yours looks female,do you know if the bifa is male?

Not a clue wether the Bifa is male or female, but I just took some pics for you, if you can tell my syn is female then you must at least be able to make a good guess about the sex of my Bifa.
