Anyone here have any experience with owning a T-Barb?

I love tinfoils but they get quite big and I was thinking of getting a school of T-Barbs, as they only grow upto 7", but still school like a Tinfoil Barb.

Anyone have any pics or info, it would be much appreciated.

I have never seen them get much past 5 inches. They are nice, though. They are much slower-swimming than tinfoils as well. They are not flashy fish, but very pleasant.

I should add, I have seen up to 5 inches, but 3 inches is a "typical adult size" that I've seen.
 
i have four red tail tinfoils they have maxed out at around 6-7 inches they dont get near as big as reg tinfoils , there very cool to watch , they school and play constantly
 
No, he means like Spanner barbs, T-barbs...blah blah blah. TFD has some or had some...great price also. I think ThatPetPlace.com still has some as well! They are great barbs, highly underrated. Get large and bulky, great dithers...;)
 
I have 3 Tinfoils in my 125 gallon tank but I'm worried they will out grow it...so I was considered getting a few T-Barbs, but in the pet stores they are too small to put in with my Oscars. My Tinfoils are about 4-5" now.

normal tinfoils should be fine in a 125.

don't worry.

they will get 12 inches though, which is fine for a 125.

IC...i never knew they got that big. how fast do they grow? would they be a good dither for a pack of 4x1in. WB dats? anyone have a pic of a large ones +4in.?

They should get much bigger than 6-7 inches though, mine got to over 12"
