First off, I would like to say hello to everyone. Not only is this my first post, but also my first tank.
A couple weeks ago I had a 100g uniquarium come in, since then I've been working on the stand which is nearing completion but now am doing the research on the lighting.
After having researched this issue I've settled on T2 lighting (cost) and have been looking at americanaquariumproducts.com.
However the most I've ever done with electrical wiring is to wire an outlet, and I'm not sure how to wire this up.
The T2 comes with the fixture and electronic ballast, should I just wire up the connection and put a plug on it. Are there some layman diagrams that would show me how to do it, I've looked around and still haven't been all that happy with what I have found.
Another thing, just how many lights should I have; these lights are 13 watts and the tank is a saltwater FO. For another these lights come in 6400k or actinic blue, which of these would be the better choice to bring out the color of the fish.
By the way, the tank came with what I would call two lighting hoods which I plan on mounting the fixtures in.
Anyway, thanks to all for you help. I really want to get this tank up and running, although I think the hardest part is figuring out just how I want the inside to look.
