Can you give me some Tactics on how to change my Gravel in to sand without putting out my fishes in my tank?... plz...

is it OK even if my sand is new and it doesn't have bacteria?

scoop the gravel out with a plastic cup.then using washed sand take the cup fill it with wet sand flood the cup with tankwater and gently lower it to the bottom of the tank and pour it into place-Anne

I used a net to scoop out gravel, and all the junk that gets left behind (your water will be dirty) I leave that in the tank so that when you add the new sand, there is matter with good bacteria on it that will sit on the sand and colonize it.

Don't forget to turn off you filter as there are some sands that might get inside your filter and destroy your filter.

I siphoned my sand out with a large diameter hose 1 1/4" works like a charm.

I do that too if I'm taking sand out of a tank, and it cleans the siphon tube really well lol

too bad putting it into the tank is not as easy.

i didnt remove my fish i got the bag of sand i slowly released at the bottom and start spreading
