Ya thats what its looking like for me too. I just grabbed my first bag from petsmart .....but damn its expensive. Oh well.

How about black 3M colorquartz? 50 lbs ~ $20. Way cheap. Might contain residual carbon, but I didn't care... it's inert.

Why not pool filter sand?
http://www.jehmco.com/ carries just about everything in bulk.

edit- looked it up, jehmco does not carry sand. Sometimes they "hide" products, so you can always email or call them to ask if they'll get some in.

This is south florida pick up, shipping would be a pain in the ass ...... unless they offer free shipping on a certain amount ... petsmart is doing free shipping on purchases 60$ and above

i would go with the 3M sand alot better of a deal.... just put the sand in a pillow case and rince it good to remove the dust
