tail fins nipped!!!

peace be upon you all,

hi guys, I just witnessed my lapradei perching, dart and bite on a youngling delhezi which I bought yesterday. I've already separated the del from the tank. Will the tail fins grow back and do I have to purchase any meds? Or will the fins grow back on it's own? I don't want my del to grow w/ broken and tattered tail fins, at the same time wary of infections after a bite. From my observations, dels have uniquely "spear-shaped" like tail fins... but could be just me Can I just settle w/ melafix?

It should grow back just fine keep the water as clean as possible and you should be fine-Anne

Ouch, sorry to hear, sometimes mixing sizes does not work.

I know exactly what you mean about delhezi having nice pointy tail fins.

The tail will regenerate, but it may not come back very nice, sometimes it does, sometimes it kinks.

Keep the water clean and no real meds needed if the tank is clean.
