I moved a Del in with a Sen, an African Butterflyfish, a Yellow Lab, and a Kribensis a couple days ago and never saw any signs of aggression from any f them but today I saw the Del has a bite out of his tail fin. I assume it was the Senegal that did it but I'm not positive.

What should I do? Should I move the Del back into the 10 gallon growout, should I put the Sen into the 10 gallon alone, do I need to get rid of one of them?

Any advice and experience is appreciated. Thanks guys

I've never had problems with polys fighting one another. It might be one of your other fish, and if it was the sen, perhaps it was just a little rough play and only an isolated incident. I suggest you observe them for several days.

Yeah most likely not the Senegal. Just watch closely and try to witness it. They are probably just establishing their pecking order since you added a new fish to the tank.

new tank, new territory, probably fighting over dominance.

About 4" Delhezi and about 6" Senegal and all the other fish are maybe 2.5-3"

I guess I'll just make sure he doesn't get hurt, but he had such a beautiful tail

UPDATE:

After keeping tabs on the tank, it is definitely the Senegal who is attacking the Delhezi. I keep them all very well fed and have never had trouble with the 6" Senegal and the 2" Kribensis, but apparently he has issues with the 4" Delhezi.

The tail fin is almost completely gone and all the Delhezi does is lay motionless on the surface, floating away from the Senegal. It used to be a very active and fun bichir, but now it's obvious he's just stressed and unhappy. I don't think this is just new territory syndrome and I believe I have to find one of them a new home.
What would you do?

sounds lik 1 may have 2 go i've had this prob wit a sen b4 but its rare wit bichirs my sen harassed my polli until i had 2 sell the sen he bit at my del once but the del bit back at him he left him alone after that but the polli wouldnt fite him back so he chased him all nite after lites out

Well, I bagged up my first bichir (the Senegal) and drove him 2 hours to the nearest LFS to get $10 store credit for him, but the owner was nice enough to just trade me for a Delhezi, which was in the same batch as my other Delhezi, so hopefully they will be peaceful toward each other.
I'm happy to have another Del, but I was sad to see my first Poly (his name was Ezekiel) go...
