Tail on BGK and Clown knife question

I've 2 questions, and I figured I would just post them together.
Question 1
My stupid ornate ate the tail of my BGK, he is doing fine, not dead or anything, but I was wondering if it will grow back, or if he will remain a tailless wonder?

Question 2
I am getting a clown knife with a set-up I am buying, the guy has had the fish for around 3 years, its only about 8". He had it in a 50gal hex tank, then moved to a 125 maybe a year ago. I was curious if he has been stunted, or if CK's just have a very slow rate of growth.

the tail should grow back in my experience bgk's heal quite fast with proper care

The BGK's tail would grow but sometime it will grow back not in perfect form. One of my BGK's tail got bitten by my senegal and when it grew back it grew twice the size and it look even better than before. Give it more high protein food and do a regular water change and it will grow back in no time.

About the CK, yes it's stunted, probably not enough nutrition that was given to the CK. I seen many CK in Asia that were kept in 55g and they still grow to 18" in 2-3 years.

Sounds stunted to me. Mine easily grew 8 inches in the first year. got it at about an inch.

Question 1: Depending on the damage...it may or may not grow back all the way, but it will heal.

Question 2: Seems like it's stunted. Some people have been able to "heal" stunted growth with a bigger tank, good water quality, and high quality food.
