so i was camping up at lake george in upstate ny this weekend. Doing a little catch and release, and check out the wound on this little bass i caught. After me and the wife discussing what could have caused it. Im curious what you guys think it could be from. It was fished out of sand bottom clear water, so im 99 percent that it wasnt caused reeling him in. What you guys think? Made me feel almost guilty when letting him go, when submerged the wound opened up almost 3x wider

Hello; Too small for the frying pan. You did about the only thing you could. Any motors with a propeller on the lake.

yea tons of boats. But the odds of one connecting with a bass seems unlikely.

Not that uncommon. We used to own a marina a few years back and would always find carp and other large fish dead from connecting with a prop

Thats crazy. You would think with all the racket a boat makes, that fish would be quick enough to get out of there

I wouldn't think a fish would survive a brush with rotating prop....more like instant death.
