How do you take pictures through glass. Whenever I see everyone's pics they look awesome, but mine always turn out bad.

that is my little contraption I rigged up because my power head was driving me nuts!

that is the best I can do

and the tank, well I moved some stuff around today and I am working on getting more stuff for it decoration wise. I just like playing with PVC

Some people take pictures on an angle so the flash reflection is redirected away from the lens. Others put something over the flash to diffuse the light.

If you have a camera where you can control the aperture/shutter speed, you can do away with the flash and use ambient lighting to give a more natural appearance.

What I've learned, and works for my camera and tank:

-increase shutter speed to capture faster moving objects
-don't use flash
-close blinds to windows / doors, use tank lighting only
-set your camera to macro mode or super-macro mode (if you have it)
-change the (I forget the correct term) to adjust more green/blue into the picture, and less red colors

Nice fish! How big is the tank? What's the stock list? It's kinda hard to see because of the cloudy water. How long has this tank been set-up?

You mean the white balance.

the first step is crystal clear water and clean glass.
Then add tons of light to the top (or an external flash laying on top---if your camera supports it)

I am working with the cloudiness. All of the killies were just added and caused it to cloud back up. Trust me, it was much worse than that. Hopefully the crab will be gone tommorow and he was a major stress on the bioload. I have some marsh killies, plains killies, mummichogs, a datnoid, a fiddler crab, 2 mollies, 2 figure 8 puffers, 1 datnoid, 1 silver scat, 1 mono argentus, 1 columbian shark, 1 bumble bee goby, 1 (soon to be 2) archers, 1 green chromide i got for free from the LFS, and I think that is it for now. I might be leaving something out. The killies are dithers for the datnoid. Ever since I got the killies, I have seen the datnoid a lot more because he feels safe. It's a 75 gallon brackish tank.
