You mean tilapia...what species are you referring to? compatibility also depends on tank size...those details are needed to give a good opinion. Keep in mind, that if you live in FL you aren't supposed to keep them
 
its like the eating kind that u can catch in fl. o but dang i didnt know that i just moved down to fl
 
There is more than one kind living in Florida, like Tilapia mariae and some Oreochromis species (and hybrids I assume).
 
For the "type you eat", I have both Nile, and Oreochromis strains, as seen here with some of my rays. They do quite well as long as they are sized accordingly. The ones in this picture are about 12" long.

Beware of your laws, I've never lived in Fl...

For food, they are Omnivores. They will eat a variety of foods. Of course, I recommend Premium foods (check my sig), but you can use pretty much anything....
