So today I picked up a betta that I felt really bad for. I put him in my 20 gal long with my leopard bushfish, clown loach, paradise fish, 2 stripped raphaels, dehelzi bichir, and a common pleco. Right off the bat the betta starts puffing up its gills and starts chasing around my clown loach and paradise fish. Then all out of the blue, my leopard bushfish just turns around and confronts him. The paradise fish and the clown loach get behind the leopard and turns toward the betta. The bushfish moves towards the betta and then starts chasing him back. Right after that the betta backs down and hasnt started anything again and everyone is alright.

So I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience of a fish stopping an abusive fish and keeping order. Share away.

In my community 55 the "sheriff" is my common pleco. The one in my avatar. He/she doesn't put up with anything from anyone. If a fish starts getting too happy, it'll confront it until it stops. lol

Hmm for me one of my male bosemani rainbows...Ate a 1'' cardinal and he is only 3'' LOL I love it =P

I know...He protects all the rainbows and all the other fish but that one just was too small..

My big common pleco in the pleco tank keeps order, doesn't really protect, but will break up anything happening, as long as it's still boss

my angel is th' sheriff in town

My red tail cat keeps the order he dont like the Oscars fighting. If either get agressive he pushes one of them across the tank.
