i was deciding between two tank... either a

72L x 18H x 18W (about a 100 gallon)
or
48Lx24dx30H (about a 150 gallon)

i'll just be putting regular cichlids... like jack dempseys (electric blue if im lucky!! :naughty:), convicts... i don't know what else..
i also wanted to know what yall prefer.. tall or long..

idk how to do a poll.. so yeah! (nevermind, i did it!!)

Long, because those footprints for a 100 gallon is perfect for a cichlid tank (those that don't grow monstrous anyways).

Well if ya have room for a 6 footer I would go that route. Though I would not get the 100g. Hold out till you can find a 135 or 150 with the 72 x 18" footprint. Or if you want to maximize then get a 180 or 210g with the 72 x 24" footprint.

I prefer long tanks. Bigger surface area and swimming space.

Ditto Lupin, next i want an 8' tank i think that would be the SHIZZ and make it 2' high and 30" deep comes out to just shy of 300gal.........that makes me drool just thinkin about it. I have never been a fan of tall tanks........unless your doing and african rift look or a SW clown fish tank, would be the only reason i would want to go tall. LONG BABY LOOOOOONG!!!

In tall vs. long, I would probably go for long. But I do prefer wider and longer tanks to longer and taller tanks.

long and wide
