tame tokay pics

okay...these pics are from another forum.i repeat these are not my tokays,but im starting to wonder how do u get them this tame.

Simple.

They don'et let their fingers near their mouth, and the only handle them lightly. They are not tame, they just look tame.
 
I don't know... the second picture, there is nowhere the Tokay can get near the fingers and they are held firmly. The last two shots... well... anyone can do that.

Regarding the first picture, I am not sure what's the story behind it.
 
Even if the tokay can't get to the fingers, I have never once handled a tokay and not had the thing try its best to bite. I agree that these are exceptional tokays with regards to handling.

That's a one in a million.

simple, you put them in the fridge for a few minutes to cool down. that being said, most lizards will calm down enough to allow you to get a pic like that.
 
It took a lot of patience on the part of the owner, building trust. I would assume it's the same as when you see a "tame" monitor. It has nothing to do with being tame, it's got to do with building a trust with them. They learn that you're not going to hurt them over time.
