Alrighty....so I am selling all of my fish (angelfish pair, heros rotkeil, plecos). So I am planning on doing a 55 gallon tanganyikan community tank.

Let me know how it looks:

2 - Julidochromis marlieri (probable pair or proven pair)
5 - Synodontis petricola
5 - Neolamprologus stappersii
? - ?

Any suggestions for a more outgoing fish or one that isn't quite open water but will be out more than the Juli. and Neolamp.?

How does that sound so far?

What inverts and such can be included in my biotope also plants?

I am also planning on making my 55 into a Tanganyika setup, one thing that I really want is a few red-finned Lamp. compressiceps. I will try to find a few thick leafed plants, just short little bits of green that I can place between the rocks. I don't know exactly what kind. Sounds great so far. Good luck with your tank ...

you could try some non jumbo cyprichromis. they will occupy the top half of the tank. IMO they are very peaceful and a great addition to most tang tanks.

What about

2 - Calvus
2- J. Marlieri
3/5 - N. stappersii or multifasciatus

That sounds pretty good so far. If the julis are a breeding pair they will be very aggressive when spawning. You can get away with more calvus/comps in there.

This isn't really going to be a breeding project. If they breed then they breed and if they eat the fry then good for them.

I'm just concerned about compatibility.

So here is what I am planning on so far:

2 - Calvus - Maybe more
2 - J. Marlieri
5 - N. stappersii

How would brichardi fit into the mix?

I would go with more calvus. For 1 they are my favorite but also the more action you have in the tank the more the calvus will be out.
