ok so can you keep a tanganyikan spiny eel with tanganyikan cichlids? and how hard are they to get a hold of? i just cant find any info on them:( i want to do a 75 gallon rocky tang tank. with honey comb limestone and that new cichlid sand(some how it mantians the hard water, and is like live sand, but for tang and malawi cichlids). i was thinking for cichlids:
black calvus
elongated lemon cichlid
convict jullie
blue neon cichlid
and possibly cuckoo catfish?
now how many of each one? the tank is 48"x18"x20" tall. also about how many pounds of honey comb limestone?

A Tang eel should do just fine in a Tang set up. You can find them sometimes on aquabid. Atlantis and Dave's rare fish carry them off and on. Since all are wild caught you pretty much just have to wait until one pops up.

never keep cukoo catfish with chicleds they compete for teretory and eat chicled eggs they also snath young chicleds from female chileds mouths trust me i gone trough that (seriously i have)

^ok thnx, i will look on aquabid for some spiny eels. so how many of each cichlid? i was thinking along theese lines:
1-2 black calvus
2-4(1 or 2 pairs) elongated lemons
1 pair of convict jullies
and maybe 3-6 blue neons (i heard they have to be kept in smalle groups)
and 1 spiny eel.

you could keep syno petricola. They are a nice Tang catfish. They will eat any fry but if you aren't planning on breeding then no harm.

ok(whats the common name?) i was hoping to get some comments on the rocks? what is the best? i heard it was honeycomb limestone? and are their any good products for tang's? like buffers or salts and foods? thnx. btw, this is not like the threads about does this sound cool or i might do this. i am going to be putting this in the guest room, so i want some color? and action? thnx
