tanganyikan tank questions

ok, so i just got rid of all my livestock. it was a mess, eel, peacocks, frontosa, cylintricus, yellow lab, firemouth.....yeah

so i decided to stick with the frontosa, and make a tanganyikan tank.

as of now, in my 75 gal. i have

1 (5 in) frontosa
1 (1.5) frontosa
1 (1.5) red frontosa
1 small brichardi
1 small calvus
1 small duboisi
1 small flame trophus
3 (4-5 in) synadonis cats

id like to add a larger calvus and some more trophus species for the flash of color, a leleupi, or an oranotis (cant spell this one but its long yellow and has black stripes) is this a good idea? keep in mind most of the fish in the tank are rather small, whats a good number to keep in my 75 gal.?

Not sure but the frontosa may need more space than that tank or they may fight when they grow a little bigger....same goes for the Tropheus.
 
You could keep like, 1 frontosa in a 75 as an adult. They get too big.

Also not even sure what a red frontosa is? (I may just not know, I'm not an expert.)
 
i realize the fronts get big.....them being about an inch right now i think i proably have atleast a year before the fronts size starts to be a problem (please, correct me if im wrong) a red frontosa is a frontosa with has brown stripes insted of black, other than that its the same fish.
 
A red frontosa is a line bred variant of Burundi where the body is a pinkish color and the stripes are brown. As an adult you get a weird blueish brown mix...

Anyways yes you are correct that it would take about a year for a 1" front to reach 5-6" if its even a male. Female might barely reach 5 at a year. But you will need a bigger tank for it after that. Even though they are slow growers you can severely affect their growing and health if it kept growing in that tank. That being said you stock list sounds fine minus the frontosa. For color lelupi would be a good choice.

ok, one last question.

is there anyway to tell male/female fronts apart besides the hump on the head when they get older? just out of curiosity i would like to know what i have

and brichardi, there is a pinkish/yellow one, and an all wite one. i assume male/female? any idea on that?

Female frontosa can grow humps too at a large size, so actually that doesn't help. You've gotta vent them.

Sounds like you just have an albino brichardi and a daffodil. No clue on sex.

As for frontosa, they can only be sexed by venting at a larger size around 5-6+" other than that the hump on the head really wont start coming in until later so not something you can use now.
