Just ordered a small calony of Juvenile Zaire Moba...3-4". Setting up tank for the wife...Would like to have another Tang. Species in there...a small goup I suppose.

Any recommendations? Its been ages since I have an african tank. Im eyeing Benth Tricoti, a Trio of Cythopharynx sp, or a group of Cyprichromis...liking the micro. Kiriza Black but think they may be eaten??

Help Please. Also, any recommended vendors are appreciated.

Cyps will disappear eventually. What size tank are you putting these guys in? Benthos work great, but need a 6'er at the minimum. Haplotaxodon microlepsis is another great, oddball species that does well with fronts. I would recommend vendors, but don't wanna step on any toes. Pm me for more info if you like

I would avoid the cyprichormis, they are frontosa food in the wild. When the fronts are large enough they will probably eat them. Never had Cyathopharynx with frontosa before, but I would imagine it would work out fine, I ve considered doing a mix of the two before. I have also kept synodontis with fronts fine. Alto's should be fine if you wanted. I ve kept smaller fish such as helianthus and tetracanthus with 5-9 inch frontosa before without any issues but it really just depends. I had hiding spots the smaller fish could get to that the larger ones could not. I wouldnt recommened keeping anything to small with them though. As for the Bentho Tricoti, I have no experience with them so I can't give any advice there. I have read online that people have kept them together but it seems to be a iffy area on if it should or shouldnt be done, I am sure someone will chime in on it, you can probably google a species profile on them and also if they have been kept together and see if you can get any information that way.

Thanks for all the replies! They are going in a 180 for now and upgraded later. so coming to Benthos or cythopharynx I suppose.

I that case, I'd definitely go tricoti. That would be a *seriously* sick setup. Fronts in the bottom, tricoti swimming the open waters.

Thanks thats basically what Ive decided. Now on finding Tricoti...only found one vendor that has a single specimen at the moment...but will be bringing more in.

Have you checked out AMS? they have some on their price list.

Yup, hes the one I found. Have some Moba's coming from AMS as well :)
