What would be the biggest acrylic tank I could put on the second floor of my house? Also where would be the best place to buy an arcylic tank in socal? What place has the best warranty and the best craftsmanship and quality.
Thanks
Brad

Depends on what the floor is made out of, supported by, age, if its a house or apartment, how well it was built.. as well as a few other basic parameters...

Most people are comfortable with around 90 g. But after that you will get mixed opinions.. In my opinion.. And I have seen tanks as large as 180 g in the second floor of a house, I haven't seen any larger.. But also the houses here are different than allot of areas across the world..

Realistically a 125 gallon, you will however need to place the tank perpindicular to the floor joists and next to a load bearing wall.

Have no idea what company to go with, lots of people have suggested Tencor here on MFK and I believe they are located in SoCal.

Ok thanks maybe I'll get an 80 to 90 gal. The Tenecor I found online is in Phoenix, AZ.
Has any one bought from Tenecor and had it shipped to Socal? If so how did they ship the tank and stand to you? How is there craftsmanship because I have seen some other tanks with excess glue every where and it turns white with water. Also is this the best place to buy from?
Thanks
Brad

i have a 125 upstairs and i live in england, in a modern flimsy house... but my floor takes it like a trooper... tank stand and contact to the floor have a lot to do with what your floor will take as does water collum height, spacing of floor supports, type of floor supports ext...

Depends on how house is consturcted/supported. Need more info.

i would get a large and thick piece of plywood and put a rug under it to protect the floor and a rug over it to ocover it up and then the tank on top. the wood will distribute the weight over a larger area.
