I have the opportunity to put a decent size tank together for my TSN and my RTC. I am wondering if you guys think it is worth moving them from their current tank to this one. They are in a 96" X 24" X 24" tank now. This tank I can get my hands on is apart but all there. It is 72" X 40" x 20" or 24" . My calculation are that at 20" deep it would be about 250g and at 24" deep it would be 300g. Would it be a good idea seems like they would have more room to swim but is it ok at 72" long? Obviously the bigger the better bu they will be losing 2' in length. Should I be worried about that?

40" deep is much better, but if it's apart you could probably improvise a way to stretch it a bit. Like making a wood frame for it adding an extra foot to each side of the front panel. You could make the dimensions 96"x40"x24". Just a thought! You'd still have glass all around except a foot on each end of the front glass.

Yeah I think your right. I am going to pick it up and then I guess lay all of it out and see what I can come up with. I think your right I could probably live with the 6' viewing front. Maybe I can come up with a way to put 2 feet on both sides and get 10' out of it! Thanks I never even thought about trying to add to the length.

That's awesome, just remember not to adjust it taller as the glass is made to hold the pressure of water at a certain height. This is kinda what I am doing with a 6' piece of glass. Making a giant tank with just one viewing panel. It will be like a pond slash tank lol. My dimensions will be 16' x 8' x 30". I don't need much height right now! lol.
