Ok so, Now that I have a nice plain tank easy to care for its time to deal with aggression. I have the motoro Sting ray, The 14 inch ornate birchir and the 12 inch dovii cichlid !

They are all SUPRISINGLY peacefull, especially for only really haveing one hiding spot in the tank because of its plain and simple look. (one log lol)

The dovii and birchir are buddies and chill together, they accually were in the tank together when I purchased them. I plan on adding a culture cat fish "Calophysus macropterus" so Should I use another log just to make sure they dont get to aggressive? The cat fish is wicked doesnt get huge and can fend for its self against most cichlids because of its teeth, so im hoping that it is tough enough for the dovii.

They sudgest it stay with large tuff fish lol http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=336

here is a pic of the current set up, Maybe one more log like that ? I need alot of room on the bottom for the ray.

Get rid of that dovii, or prepare for dead fish. It's going to happen, just a matter of time. What size tank is that?

no aggression at the molment, I will be adding a vulture catfish hopeing no aggression starts. I think I will add more wood for some breaks in the lines of sight.

More decor for territory always is helpful. I'd add as much as possible without crowding the tank.

Watch the dovii close. They can get aggressive as they age. Though, I did have a jag that wasn't aggressive to anyone but other cichlids, but that's not usually the norm, and doviis are usually much more aggressive than jags, and they have the teeth to kill. They can just snap one day, especially if someone pisses him off for some reason, or their hormones get going in preparation to find a mate.
