I mentioned to a friend of mine that I was thinking about getting an aquarium this summer when i move into my apartment this summer. It is a studio/efficiency so my kitchen is adjacent to my living room without anything to break if up. I am planning on caring for a Fahaka Puffer and wanted to know if having no background and being able to be seen on all sides would freak it out? Thanks!

i have a large tank as a divider between my livingroom/ kitchen and my bedroom, it has arowanas and frontosa in it and when the lights are on it spooks them but we like to dim the lights a bit andway and when we do the fish are very active and dont mind

Depends on the activity level in your apartment. With you walking around and normal movement, the fahaka will probably love it. They are very personable fish that love human interaction. If you will have kids running around, lots of parties, etc then that may not be the best place to put it.
