I'm setting up my new dat tank and I'm trying to decide on the background color. I am thinking of going blue instead of the usual black. I have heard from some others that a lighter color background may produce more stable dats. Not sure if this is true or not. Currently I have them in a black background tank and only a few (5 out of 14) are stable all the time. Does anyone have any first hand experience in changing background colors on dat tanks? Was there any change in the stability of the dats? Thanks for the help.

i had my dats on natural gravel with black back ground and they were stable from 1"-2"...i moved them to black sand with plants and shinny aluminum foil for the back ground and they are stable at 3"-4"...i prefure the black sand and silver foil back ground... 5 of my 5 are stable...

i like blue but a black background is nice too.
with blue you can see the dat even if its dark and not stable.

Thanks for the input. I'm going with a royal blue back ground. My ITs are becoming more stable in the tank with the black background, but my NTTs are still hard to see. Although it is pretty cool to see krill seem to vanish as my larger NTTs hit it while blending in to the black background. Hopefully the blue background will help stabilize them.
