Hi,
I just recently set up a 125 glass aquarium on a DIY stand. The problem I have is that its not quite level front to back by about 1/16 on an inch. I can't find any wood that size to run under the stand. I tried shims but its too hard to get it just right all the way across since the stand is over 6ft long. Any ideas? BTW love the site especially the DIY section.

I don't think 1/16th of an inch should be much of a concern.

All of mine are off by atleast that much and they are shimmed. I think you are fine.

It should be fine. Start to be concerned if the wood becomes twisted. As long as the tank is sitting on a flat surface you are fine. (In your case its flat, just angled).

1/16 over how many feet?
what size level did you use

I think its a 2 foot level.

Thanks for the replies.

Is there a 1/16" gap between the tank & the stand? If so, I think everyone is misunderstanding what you are describing. If so, you might want to get some foam under your tank.

they said not quite level from front to back....i would assume thats not a gap under the tank BUT simply water level is off a bit...if thats the case your ok.....if it is like the above poster says...then your in for some wet floors one day
