In the design of my tank i need to dig out and do a set of footings as its going in the garden, but joined to the conservatory in a fish room.

Now i have worked out the rough weight of it and coming in near to 10 ton (10,000kg) they are nothing light weight. I came up with this weight as i am thinkin gof building it of either concrete block or poured concrete, concrete weighs around 2300kg a cubic meter, mine will take around 2. Then theres the water, glass etc.

The tank will be around 10 x 7 x 3, give or take. now thats a lot of weight for such a small area.

Just wondering what your tanks are sat on of the similar size.

My base,
2 foundation slabs 7` x 4` x 10" ( 2 as needed because of drains just 8 inch below the surface.
3 pillars built up for the tank base to sit on which will be beam and slab.
Then the 8 inch walls done
Then 3 inch of concrete on the base.
