I have a 150 gal tank that is currently sitting on a DIY stand. I have noticed that the bottom of the tank does not sit flush on the stand. After looking into the issue I noticed that the TANK isn't made level. I have taken the plastic frame off the bottom of the tank (for aesthetic reasons) and where the corners of the tank meet, they don't meet up flush on the bottom... there is about a 1/8" difference. This causes the entire length of the aquarium to not actually touch the stand.

How would it be possible to level it, if the tank itself isn't square?

If I need to I can draw and post a picture explanation, It's difficult to describe otherwise...

Thanks!

i think i would be easier to do some modification the stand then the tank, but a lil confused on what you mean a pic would help a lot

nmnm read it over a couple of times and it sounds like you would have to talk to the person you bought it from and
get a new tank or take it apart and reseal it.

Not very many tanks that come rimmed are made perfectly straight or flush that's part of the reason that they have the trim on them. The other reason being to reinforce the glass. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if all that water ends up on your floor.

I bought the tank from craigslist so no returning it :(

I noticed that when I took the trim off, the gaps were filled with nothing but silicone (to hold the trim on)

so even IF the trim were to be put back on, the only thing supporting the gaps would be silicone. Apparently this is the way the tank has always been...

here is an illustration i threw together with flash to help you guys/gals see the issue.

Yes, but the silicon compresses nicely, so the tank is being supported by the trim. The trim helps the tank a lot. Put the trim back on, or sit the tank on a piece of Styrofoam with the same footprint, and hopefully the stress will be reduced enough not to bust your tank.
