Hey, last night while I was moving fish into another set-up tank and I guess the glass finally gave out, the tank was sticking out probably an inch and a half on the two sides. Possibly the weight maybe bowed the drawers it was on. Anyways I had to move all the residents of the busted tank to a 75g with my 12" jag and 5" rtc they had it to themselves now I've divided half the tank and all the residents of the old tank jag n rtc on other.. Will ther be alot of aggression without hiding spots for all those fish? And how long could I keep them divided in the tank..

i had my 125 back siphon and flood my ENTIRE apartment once....its a bad situation...good luck with it...as far as keeping all them together, as long as none of the fish can fit in the RTC mouth they will be fine...i would be concerned about the jag beating up the others though, they tend to be mean.

None of the cichlids can fit it the mouth.. T-jag (tyranasaurus jagaur) is 12" 8 yrs old an pretty nasty. But on the other side the divider I have a convict, full grown gt, firemouth, largemouth bass, smaller jag, Senegal bichir, and a royal pleco.

as long as they are seperated and dont get over to the dark side they should be fine for a little while...i would double up on water changes until you can get them in diferent tanks.

Sorry to hear about your busted tank, that's sucks.

How long has the 75 gallon been set up? You may want to keep an eye on your params and keep up with water changes as suggested. I suspect the addition of these fish will put pressure on the bio-load of the tank. Be wary of an ammonia spike.

Allright....just tyring to let you know that you can run into other problems besides just aggression. Adding too many fish to an established tank can test the bio-load regardless off gallons per hour of filtration.

not a question of filtration, it's the appetite of the bacteria in the filtration, they. they can only eat so much. the bacteria only divide every 12-20 hours, so the first few days keep an eye on your ammonia levels. unless you can add the biomedia from the other tank, in which case, no worries.
