Hey all, so I got my 6 RBP's in my 125 now and got it all set up and nice and of course within days, it is a mess cause of my messy P's and I find myself cleaning it quite often. I have had gravel in all of my tanks in the past and for my 125, I decided to go the sand route simply because I like the way it looks, ha. I am using my gravel cleaner to get all the poop or.... trying to get all the poop out and it seems to just spin around in the end of the siphon. It sucks all my sand out just fine.... I am just holding the siphon until it barely starts to suck all the crap out, but then it goes nowhere... Any tips on how to get all the crap out without taking half the sand with it? Any siphons or products out there that could help me out? Again, this is my first tank with sand, so please keep the flaming to a minimum ha. Thanks :headbang2

I dont' know if this helps, but with my old sand bottum piranha tanks the power head currents would using collect the fish waste in certain dead spots.
I would take the tube off the vac and just siphon the waste out using only the hose. Holding just high enough off the surface of the sand to keep from pulling the sand up.

I have found that if i just want to collect the poo from the tank i also just use the tube and not the "vacuum" attachment on the front and that seems to work for me.

Yeah take off the fatter end of the syphon hose it isn't nessicary for sand-bottomed tanks

Just hold the end of the hose high enough of the sand not to suck in the sand (only the poop)

Cool, I'll definitely try that. Thanks guys!
