My tank has been cloudy since I got it. It cleared up a bit after a day or two but still isn't perfect. Its not my glass because the rock that is against it looks clear, so it must be the water. Plus if I look down front he top its cloudy too. Thoughts?

There's a wet dry filter on the tank and it does have mechanical filtration. From what I briefly read could it be a bacterial bloom?

never had a bacterial bloom in salt water. Could be. Would come from bad water quality though. Do water changes till it clears up and post your params.

Bacterial bloom or possibly ammonia spike. Because you just set it up I am going to say die off and ammonia spike.

One does cause the other however.

did some testing. Only things off is ammonia at .25ppm and nitrate at 30ppm +/-... WHat should I do? It it run its course?

Yup...+big water change when the ammonia goes away.

Test for nirite as well, if you have any, you should add an airstone to your tank somewhere.

how long has tank been established, at 0.25 its not ammonia or bacterial bloom. use filter wool and i bet with time it will clear up, the fact that you have high nitrate tells you that your tank has cycled and unless something dies or you overfeed you are not going to have a ammonia spike or a bacterial bloom

Tank has cleared up alot but still a little cloudy. It was this way before it got really cloudy too. Nitrates hit 40ppm this morning so I'm gonna do a 25% w/c and see where it lays after that. Any thoughts on a marine clarifier? I bought the tank used and setup so I'm at the mercy of the other guys maintenance. He had 3 fish in there (2 grouper and a trigger) and I kept 60% of the old water and replaced the rest. Initial testing had nitrates at 20ppm so i am assuming it was high as crap before.

Keep up on small water changes more frequently and less larger water changes. Again, run it through filter floss. After the params are in order with mechanical filtration, your water will be clear ;)
