Hi mates!
I know that problem can occur in keeping plec species with bichirs and wonder what the likely good of keeping a royal panaque with my bichirs? Is it likely to eat the slime off my bichirs or is this species ok with them? Thanks

Panaques are usually safe with bichirs. Just make sure they have lots of wood to graze on.

bottom line for me is:

Is you want to be 100% safe, NO PLECOS OF ANY KINDS.

the only pleco i've ever heard of being the littlest bit of O.K. with bichirs are bristlenose and they usually don't stay around long lol

You can keep them together but if i were you i would keep arrangements for him just in case because one day your bichir could be fine then the next he could have a huge fungal infection from the pleco sucking on him all night. So i would keep close watch as long as he is in there with the bichir.

I have a small panaque with a endli and is fine had a common and it did suck the endli. The species that feed on wood are better IMO.
