Hello All,
First time posting, long time viewer! I’m getting back into the aquarium hobby after a bit of a long hiatus. I’ve kept a numerous number of freshwater fish, community fish, cichlids, discus, peacock bass, and even some freshwater stingray. The biggest tank I’ve had until now was 55, yes, I know 55 wasn’t big enough to house fully grown fish like the stingray and peacock bass, but wild always get rid of them before they outgrew the tank (had a good relationship with local fish store).
Anyway, I’m getting back into the hobby now and currentl have a 55 gallon setup with some peacock cichlids. I recently aquatic two more aquariums, a 120 gallon and 90 gallon. The question I have, or opinions I’m looking for regards the 90 gallon. It did not come with a stand and built one myself with left over would from previous projects. When I place the tank on he stand, although it looks as it it contacts the hole stand, it doesn’t come into full contact around the entire perimeter. There are some spots, I can fit a piece of loose leaf paper in between. So we’re not talking a lot of space but some. I would like people opinions and experiences pertaining to this situation. I was young when I was last into the hobby and didn’t really pay attention to stuff like this, but maybe now that I’m older, I’m starting to pay more attention to detail. Anyway, do you think I’ll be ok with a small paper gap in spots, or will this level out when filled with water?
Stand is just a norma diy stand you normally see with 3/4” ply on top. Again am I being paranoid or is this really a concern. I’ve searched the lovey web, but no one I’ve come across mentions anything about this small of gap, or maybe I’m not looking hard enough.

I should note, some of the spots o can fit the paper in is in two of the corners, and from what I have read, there should be no gaps at the corners, but is a paper thin gap really that bad? That’s where I get confused is everyone in the threads I’ve seen mentions gaps not being good are from 1/16” to 1/8” and higher.

Your tank is empty, right now?

Once you add about 90x 8.34 pounds of water, the weight will compress the wooden stand, as long as your 3/4" plywood is providing the FLAT surface. Inconsistentancey in the stand are not a big deal.

You can keep a layer of thermocol sheets or rubbermat on the stand surface and then place the tank on top. Ensure that the entire stand surface is covered while placing either of these.

My 220G is on a layer of thermocol sheet.
