Tank cut down

I have a 8'x4'x3' that i got cheap but its bigger than i want. Is it possible to cut it down to the size i want and glue it back together? What kind of glue/weld should i use? Thanks

Is this an Acrylic tank or a Glass tank? in either case it is possible unless it's a glass tank that has Tempered glass (Safe bet that at that size it is tempered)

If it's to big for you ... you can always store it in my garage ;) I'd be happy to use it for you... errrr I mean "store" it for you :D

dude how about I trade you for mine thats already what you need mine is a little bit smaller
 
for that matter since hes in nyc and so am I we should just trade so he gets what he wants and I get what I need no?
 
Since u got it cheap i would bring to an acrylic fabricator and have them do it. Not an easy DIY job unless you've worked with acrylic before i think. You might end up with no tank!!

Very true. If you don't have a router table and think that a saw will do the same job, you are in for a huge surprise.

really --table saw won't cut acrylic straight enough?
 
Why not sell it then buy the tank you want plus some fish with the profit.
