Could someone please provide me with a link to a reliable source to explain proper tank cycling. I need to get my 110 up and running.

Thanks............rick

pretty easy. put water in a tank. buy hella feeders and some food. keep them in there for at least 2-4 weeks with no water changes, add water when running low. test waters every once an a while. then when water params are within readings you want except nitrates, which hopefully should be high, then water change and add fish. at least IMO.

i have a question, if i fill a new tank with the water from an already established tank, will i have to wait for cycling?

Yes, but not as long.
You would still need feeders though.

1) Don't hijack someone else's thread. If you have a question, even if it's related, start your own thread, or wait for the response you're looking for.

2) To answer your question, no, adding water from an established tank won't really do anything to help you. Especially if you have no ammonia or nitrites (as an established tank should).

Read the info in the link I posted above, and FYI: adding bio-media from an established tank's filter, not water, is the fastest way to rapid-cycle your tank.

No offense friend, but that's pretty lazy. Just type in "aquarium cycling" on Yahoo! or Google and plenty of info pops up. Here's one:

No offense taken, "friend", but I am not lazy and have done countless searches on countles websites and search engines. And do you know what, I have gotten countless numbers of different scenarios. I just thought with the experience here someone would point me in the right direction and save me the time from having to filter through the bad stuff to get to the good.

But thanks for the link anyway...........................:irked:

Sorry, wasn't trying to be a jerk, but too many people will post a thread that haven't even attempted to do their own research.

If you would have mentioned that you were having trouble sifting through all the info, you would have probably received a different response.

Sorry again.
