Ive read about cycling tanks but ive never actually done it and ive only had one fatality it was a guppy who wasn't moving around to start with. what I do is when I want to add a new tank I take water out of my other tanks and fill it with that. I test for ammonia and 0 in all my tanks the water is always crystal clear.

of course I will cycle when I get my new tank but so far so good

you people can start attacking me now

the guppy tank was just set up on short notice I couldent help buying them. it has a cheap whisper ten gal filter with an air hose going into it to promote bacterial growth

What reply are you looking for?
As you say , you've never really done it. Kinda' says it all.
Of what value is this thread to anyone actually cycling a tank ?
Just because you have thus far been able to skate by without having to correctly cycle a tank is not any sort of reflection on the right or wrong way to go about it.
So I'm back to the original question , what reply did you expect ?
At the risk of incurring the moderators wrath, you are talking out your *ss.
