Would the tank be cycled already? Bottle says can put fish in tank
But continue with the dosages so ya anybody? Would I be all good?

I already bought an aro 14-15 inches that's the only fish going I'n
I also have prime for tank but did not use it yet thanks very much!! Pls reply back

Hello; The short answer is that the tank is not likely to be cycled in 7 days. A longer answer is hidden the the link that follows. To get a quick cycle you pretty much need to have some solid structure (filter media, plants, snails, gravel or such) which will have active beneficial bacteria(bb) on their surfaces. The structure with the bb needs to be kept wet all the time and not go too long without an ammonia source.

There have been long discussions about how effective the various "cycle in a bottle" products may be and I do not know about the one you mentioned.

One other thing to keep in mind is that the population of bb will come into balance with the amount of their food (ammonia). So if you do get a population of bb going with two small fish and later add a large number of fish or some much larger fish, the bb will take some time to increase their population and be able to process (eat) the ammonia.

And then there is the nitrite- nitrate discussion.

Hello; Here is a link to an article about nitrogen and cycling. It is an involved read.

Good luck

Hello; I am repeating the PM on the open forum in case someone wishes to critique my response.

Not sure what the "water mud" actually may be, but sounds like structure from an established tank that may well be loaded with bb. If you keep it wet it should still have the active bb. You can put it in a mesh bag or something like panty hose and suspend it in the water or perhaps just put it in a media chamber of the filter. If it is in fact bb loaded material then it should go in with the big fish. This bb loaded material will give a quick start to the cycle as far as the bb populations go. There will still be some things going on for a few weeks before the tank becomes stable. In the meantime be prepared to do some water changes if the ammonia readings get high. Probably should check the ammonia every day or so and do water changes as needed.

You likely jumped the gun on getting a large fish so soon. It may be that at this point the 14 inch fish will do better in the largest volume of water available as it will dilute the ammonia to a degree and may help prevent gill burn (ammonia burn). Water changes also dilute the ammonia as it builds up until the bb can establish a population and convert it as it is excreted by the fish. The "water mud" is likely bb loaded stuff and should go in with the big fish if it is actually bb loaded material.

Good luck
