has anyone ever/tried putting babmboo inside the tank?

the top of it has to peak out of the water, if you fine one long enough to do that, itd work

it has to peak out? i was thinking about growing one inside the tank as a part of a live plant decor and mount a uv light on the canopy in replace of the sun.

Bamboos are not true aquatic plants. If you dip the whole thing into water, It would....."drown"? I cant find another word to describe it. And do not use UV light, you would kill the bamboo and the radiation may harm you and the fishes.

we have a 3' piece of bamboo stalk that we have suction cupped to the glass so one of the turtle tanks can have a resting spot (place to grab on). It's turning a nice goldish color as time goes on. Going to find a bigger piece outside to cut down and mask the filter intake on the fx5 in another tank. You can also hollow it out by making a pointy stick out of anything metal (like a long skewer) and making it hot w/lighter than hollowing it out to hide air tubing in.
